Cycling & Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking

The Lodge is directly on the route of the 2014 Tour de France and also the Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way. This is a well signposted circular route visiting most of the major dales. We also have a secure outdoor bike storage area. 5 of the published UK hardest cycling  road climbs are within a 10 mile radius of the barn, making the opportunity for one of the most challenging rides possible.

Mountain Biking

There are many circular routes from easy to difficult including the famous Kilnsey to Malham track over Mastyles Lane.

Great Fishing

Just 200 yards away are the rivers Skirfare and Wharfe. Day fishing permits can be purchased through Kilnsey Angling Club (01756 752301) based at the nearby Tennant Arms pub.

There is also Kilnsey Park Trout Farm (01756 752150) for fishing on a well stocked lake.

Nearby riverside walks can be taken from Kettlewell to Buckden, Hawkswick to Arncliffe and Grassington to Burnsall.

There are also walks in nearby Grass Woods with ancient woodland, hill fort and settlement. Ingleton waterfalls, Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Abbey, How Steam Gorge and Brimham Rocks are just a short drive away offering alternative walking experiences.
